A Mind-body Stress Release Protocol
Some people may never become really ill, but may go through life never feeling quite right with themselves. It is only when the stress of life begins to weigh on them that they begin to show signs of illness.
A woman friend of mine was troubled by asthma. She could not participate in sports, dancing was limited, too much excitement or stress would trigger an asthmatic attack. There was much tension in her marriage. After twenty years, she finally decided to leave her husband. The day the divorce was finalized, she stopped having asthma attacks. To this day, more than twenty years later, she has not had an asthma attack. This is one example of how emotions can affect our physical body, and until we clear the emotions, we cannot experience optimal health.
Now, I’m not proposing divorce for those who are not feeling optimal health!
There are several techniques which deal with emotional stress, one of which is Neuro-Emotional Technique.

The NET protocol determines the meridian blockages and removes them through spinal access to the nervous system. NET seeks to normalize neurological imbalances. It removes the blocks to the body’s natural healing process, allowing the body to repair itself. These corrections balance the nervous system, so that one can deal with life’s problems more effectively.
NET is directed at achieving homeostasis (balance) of the human organism. Its method of correction is through the spinal acupuncture points. The acupuncture theory, known as Five Element Law, links specific emotions to specific meridians; like anger and the liver meridian; grief and the lung meridian.
Unresolved traumatic events seem to recur in various forms. It is as though we keep inviting these situations in order to learn, grow, and heal. Consider the individual who was abused as a child by a parent. If the abusive events were never resolved and healed, this person, as an adult, often creates relationship after relationship with abusive partners.
These ‘locked’ emotional responses have reflex patterns like the conditioned response that Ivan Pavlov documented in his experiments with dogs. Sometimes, our ‘locked’ negative emotional responses, can manifest as symptoms. The result is an imbalance, or blockage in an energy pathway leading to ill health.

New instances that trigger negative feelings may not simply involve a current event or emotion. Rather, they may be connected to a chain of emotional events that occurred in childhood. Chinese medicine says such stagnant energy creates an ‘electromagnetic charge of energy’, which may be stored in the corresponding organ or meridian system.
Neuro-Emotional Technique is a way to detect and change an unwanted conditioned response.
NET practitioners are not psychiatrists or psychologists. They treat the physical problem caused by the emotional stress or trauma. Most people with a physical condition, illness, or pain, have an emotional ‘component’ to that condition. Once the ‘emotion’ is ‘treated’, the physical condition is relieved.
The NET practitioner, with the patient’s involvement, can accurately and quickly, find the origins of the emotional trauma. Without going through the actual feelings of the trauma, it can be resolved through either spinal or pulse acupuncture meridians. This is a safe and quick intervention that allows for the elimination of the emotionally laden conditioned response.
The treatment uses Muscle Response Testing. While the person ‘mentally holds’ the emotional memory of when the problem first took place, the body’s physiology temporarily returns to a pattern similar to the original event. At the same time, the practitioner assists in eliminating the effect of the emotion by stimulating spinal points corresponding to the particular organ involved.
This is an introduction to NET and is not intended to educate you on how NET works but to inform you of what NET can do. If you are looking for relief from the effects of unresolved conditions similar to those referred above, I suggest you go to www.netmindbody.com, to find a practitioner located near you.
